Report: Arsenal now pushing to sign £22m forward compared to Aguero; his agent has confirmed Gunners interest

Arsenal are cracking on with their summer business it seems and are looking to sign one of the hottest young prospects in Europe right now.

This summer might well be about bringing in a player or two who can impact the first-team again.

But alongside that recruitment, Arsenal are also looking to the future and if they can sign top youngsters, then they will do just that.

The Gunners have become one of the best destinations for young players in recent times as a number of talented youngsters have flourished under Mikel Arteta.

And according to reports coming out of Turkey today, Arsenal are leading the charge to sign one of the top players from the Super Lig.

Arsenal pushing on with interest in Semih Kilicsoy

According to a report from Aksam, Arsenal are the team from England who are leading the charge for Kilicsoy.

The 18-year-old has made a huge impression at Besiktas already in his young career and scored an impressive 11 goals last season to showcase his potential.

Aksam are reporting that there is plenty of interest from clubs in Kilicsoy but from England, Arsenal have been confirmed by his agent to have been in touch about his signing.

Kilicsoy, who has been compared to Sergio Aguero for the way he plays, could cost Arsenal around £22m if they do decide to pull the trigger.

However, with budgets tight due to PSR and FFP implications and first-team strengthening seen as key, the Gunners may also miss the boat this summer.

Man in-demand

A host of other clubs are keen on Kilicsoy as well, with Tottenham among them.

Quite whether Premier League sides will pay the figure wanted to buy Kilicsoy now or wait and let him have another year in Turkey, remains to be seen.

But given he is already starring at Euro 2024, there is a chance English clubs miss out.

If Arsenal want Kilicsoy, then, they might just have to bite the bullet this summer.
