The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is nothing short of a domesticated monster truck that you can daily drive, if you wanted to. And while its extracurriculars shine where the pavement ends, a recent video shows the behemoth of a machine taking laps around the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany, of all places. The sights and sounds in particular are something to behold if you’ve been on the edge of pulling the trigger on a $70,425 truck with a supercharged Hellcat V8 engine.

The Ram 1500 TRX is the epitome of performance trucks at this point and time. Boasting 702 horsepower, it manages to tab a 0-60 in 4.5 seconds with 650 Lb-ft of torque coming out of the supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8, otherwise known as the Hellcat. No one said it was gas sipping. It only comes in 4×4 and is only available with a crew cab and 5 foot 7-inch bed. To show off at the traffic lights, the Ram 1500 TRX is the first truck from Stellantis to come with launch control, which assists with engine RPM and traction off the line.
If that wasn’t enough for your drag race fantasies it also comes with a dashboard that shares, there’s a 60-foot timer, a reaction timer, an eighth-mile timer, and a quarter-mile timer. Should you suspect any lag in total horsepower, the TRX features an onboard dynamometer borrowed from Dodge SRT models to test and compare different runs. Keeping things steady is a massive set of Bilstein shocks, which are some of the best in the business.
Lapping The Nürburgring
Video provided by BTGDale on YouTube shows the TRX in action. Two of the biggest observations from the video are the amount of sway the suspension gives rounding corners and the roaring Hemi engine as it accelerates. The only possible point for improvement per the video would be its braking system as about 6-minutes in, after taking sharp turns, driver Dale explains he has lost braking power to overheating and takes a good portion of the track to cool them down. Then again, how many pickup trucks do you see lapping The Green Hell?
